Blu-ray Review: The Losers
On the surface, The Losers may seem like your ordinary action flick. You know the type of film I’m talking about. Things are blown up, people are shot, the evil villain is attempting to either take over the world or even destroy it and of course the good guys are doing everything in their power to stop the evil villain. your basic mindless entertainment.
Now, if you were to peel back the layers and take a closer look inside The Losers you’ll quickly realize that there is more to this movie that meets the eye. It’s a well written film that separates itself from the majority of action flicks that are released in this day and age.
Based on a comic book series published by DC Comics’ Vertigo imprint, The Losers are centered around five members of an elite U.S. Special Forces unit sent into the Bolivian jungle on a search and destroy mission. The group quickly finds that they are the targets of a lethal betrayal instigated from inside by a powerful enemy known only as Max. Presumed dead, the group makes plans to even the score when they’re joined by the mysterious Aisha, a beautiful operative with her own agenda. Working together, they must remain deep undercover while tracking the heavily-guarded Max, a ruthless man bent on embroiling the world in a new high-tech global war.
The cast which is led by Jeffrey Dean Morgan who is accompanied by Idris Elba, Chris Evans, Columbus Short, Oscar Jaenada, Zoe Saldana, and Jason Patric was spectacular!
This is not your typical action movie, think of the film as an elaborate chess game. The Losers have you on the edge of your seat the entire time. It’s a fast paced film that offers loads of entertainment fun!
