Each and every Sunday ComicNews.Info will take you on a stroll, so to speak, throughout the comic book blogosphere with the intention of providing you with a look at some of the more interesting news, articles and commentary that we feel you’ll have an interest in.
One of my favorite comic related blogs is The Beat, although I don’t seem to visit the site as often as I should, sorry Heidi. Anyway, when scanning through the headlines earlier today I came across an interesting Comic-Con rant written by Steve Marmel.
Speaking of Comic-Con rants, here’s another pretty good one, actually it’s a very good rant or as the title states The Post Comic-Con Bitching. Maybe next year I’ll have my own rant.
Over at Mindpollution there’s an interesting read written by comics journalist Rick Marshall and his thoughts on IDW Publishings recent announcement that SDCC ‘08 may be their last. Ricks post was a take on a bigger discussion over at Tom Spurgeons site, The Comics Reporter. Hey Tom, why didn’t you ask me my opinion.
With a lot of hype(understatement) surrounding The Watchmen film there has been plenty of discussions as of late throughout the web, you can find one such discussion by visiting Thom Wades blog. If that’s not enough Watchmen discussion for you then check out the points that Graeme McMillan makes . Personally, I’m all for a Watchmen film, hell, I’m all for any comic book related film.
For those readers that are interested in seeing an interview with Neil Gaiman in regards to the SDCC announcement regarding his writing of as two part Batman story with Andy Kubert. Well, let me save you some time so you don’t have to search the high heavens for that interview.
This was posted on Neil Gaimans Journal.
“My mailbox is starting to fill up with questions from journalists about the announcement at San Diego that I’ll be writing a two-part Batman story for Andy Kubert to draw, that will come out in January. They have lots and lots of questions.
So I don’t have to write lots and lots of emails back to all the journalists:
1) Yes, I am writing a two part Batman story.
2) Yes, Andy Kubert will be drawing it.
3) Yes, it will be two oversized issues.
4) No, I don’t plan to say anything else about it until it’s all written and drawn.”
There you have it folks, everything you need to know about the upcoming Batman story that’ll be written by Neil Gaiman. Quickest and easiest interview I’ve ever done!
One thing I really enjoy about post comic-con is all of the photo parades that popup online. Here is a nice collection of comic-con photos and there’s even a description next to each one. I love pictures with descriptions.
Ok, that does it for this weeks debut edition of The Sunday Stroll. I’ll be back next week with more interesting tidbits from the comic blogoshere.
