When Fangirls Attack needs your help.
Here’s an excerpt from an announcement they recently made;
We’re sentimental types though, and we like to think that WFA serves a purpose in the fan community. We’d like to see it continue and regain some of the relevance it had previously.
That’s why I’m posting. We’re looking for someone/some people who are interested in taking over WFA.
Sounds like a great opportunity for someone looking to take over an established blog while at the same time allowing When Fangirls Attack to remain an active component in the comic book blogosphere.
Looks like DC Comics has become the newest member of the $3.99 club.
DC recently announced that a number of their titles will include co-features. The co-features will be presented in pages added in addition to the regular series’ stories. both Teen Titans and Booster Gold – and other series with co-features will increase in price to $3.99.
Unlike other publishers that are charging $3.99 for a comic book, as stated, DC is at least giving fans additional pages, so kudos to DC for that. No reason to bash anyone for raising the price of a comic book, it’s a tiny reflection of the world we live in.
A true hero. It just so happens that her husband is none other than Flash: Rebirth artist Ethan Van Sciver.
How terrible is it that I’m actually looking forward to getting my hands on this DVD? However, I won’t be attending any DVD release parties but my wife will. Still, I’m a little disappointed that the invite states, one invite per DVD reservation.
I used to love playing Monopoly when I was younger. With the group I was playing with things could get a bit heated since we were all very competitive and losing was not an option. It would have been nice to have this comic back then, How to win at monopoly without losing a friend.
Something a little different for the Stroll.
I recently completed volumes one through five of Garth Ennis’ Preacher series and I have to say that this is one of most compelling comic book series that I have ever read.
Preacher has all of the components that make for a great story. It has grit, it’s dark, it’s light, it’s humorous, it’s a love story, it’s part western, part horror, part religious epic and so much more.
Couple it with the beautiful artwork of Steve Dillon and you have a perfect combination exploding from panel to panel, page after page.
What Ennis and Dillon created here is nothing short of genius and I think that they should be praised “until the end of the world” for creating such a masterpiece.
If your looking for a comic book series above all others than I highly recommend picking up this series and giving it a chance, you won’t be sorry.
I’m keeping things short and sweet this week as I’ve got a huge honey-do list to complete. Ahhhh the labors of love.
I’m out.
