First Annual Pittsburgh Comic Book & Collectibles Show, May 31st
New Dimension Comics will host the Pittsburgh Comic Book and Collectibles Show at Century III Mall in West Mifflin, Pennsylvania on May 31, 2009 from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Admission for this new one-day show is $3.00.
Confirmed guests include Pat and Shelly Block (Walt Disney Comics & Stories), Ron Frenz (Spider-Girl), Joe Jusko (Conan), George Broderick Jr. (The Simpsons), DJ Coffman (Hero By Night), Brendon & Brian Fraim (Knights of the Dinner Table), Mike San Giacomo (Phantom Jack), Tom Scioli (Godland), Robert Tinnell (The Wicked West), Marc Sumerak (Weapon X First Class), Mihailo Vukelic (Back to Brooklyn), Ernie Stiner (Nick Fury), and Chris Yambar (Bart Simpson).
Also included are Dagorhir Battlegames Association, Jay Fife (pin-up artist), Robert Brewer (Fat Jar Studios), Malcolm Gittins (Monster Art) Kelli Kane (Planet Saturday Comics), Eric Kemphfer (Shattered Realm), Damion Kendrick (Chang Fury) Barry Linck (Phineus) Sean McArdle (Tales Starlight Drive-in), Lee Moder (Dragon Prince), Don Pedicini Jr. (Lucasfilm), Sean Pence (Heroes), Pittsburgh Steel Man, Tod Smith (Lucasfilm), and Michael Wood (Space Monkey Comics).
I have wanted to host an event like this for a long time,” Todd McDevitt, the show’s promoter and the owner of New Dimension Comics, said. “One of my big incentives was that the Pittsburgh Comicon has been moved to September 11-13 in Monroeville this year. With no spring show, I wanted to fill the gap with a cool event!”
In addition to creator guests, McDevitt has recruited numerous other comic book and collectibles dealers to set up a the show. Door prizes will be held every half hour, and there will be plenty of giveaways, he said.
